Ammonium Salt of Glyphosate (distributed by Jaffer Agro Services / JAFFER group) is a highly efficient, non-selective systemic weedicide used to control annual and perennial weeds in non-cropped areas, orchards, and during pre-planting preparation. Its highly soluble formulation ensures rapid absorption by plant foliage and translocation throughout the root system.
Systemic Action and Kill Mechanism
Classified under HRAC Group G, Glyphosate works by inhibiting the EPSP synthase enzyme, which stops the synthesis of essential aromatic amino acids (phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan) necessary for plant growth. Because it is systemic, it translocates down to the roots, rhizomes, and tubers, ensuring that the entire weed plant is killed and preventing regrowth.
Application Scenarios
In Pakistan, this herbicide is commonly used for clearing weeds along water channels, field borders, and in orchards (citrus, mango) under controlled directed sprays. It is also effective for weed control in zero-tillage farming before sowing wheat or cotton. Ensure that the target weeds are green and actively growing for maximum chemical absorption.
