Bensulfuron + Acetachlor 30WP: Pre-Emergence Rice Herbicide
Bensulfuron 67 g/kg + Acetachlor 233 g/kg 30WP (distributed by Saver Enterprise) is a highly effective, selective pre-emergence and early post-emergence weedicide mixture. Specifically formulated for transplanted rice fields in Pakistan, it prevents the germination and growth of broadleaf weeds, grasses, and sedges, keeping fields clean during early crop development.
Synergistic Modes of Action
Bensulfuron-methyl acts as an ALS inhibitor (HRAC Group B), halting cell division in broadleaf weeds and sedges. Acetachlor is a selective chloroacetamide herbicide (HRAC Group K3) that inhibits cell division and protein synthesis in germinating grass seeds. The combination acts as a powerful barrier, controlling weeds before they compete with young rice plants.
Application Recommendations
Apply 150gm per acre 3-7 days after transplanting rice. It can be mixed with dry sand and broadcasted in standing water. Ensure 2-3 inches of standing water is maintained in the field for at least 4-5 days to seal the herbicide layer on the soil surface.
