Synergistic Herbicide Actions

Mesotrione is an HPPD (hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase) inhibitor (WSSA Group 27). It disrupts carotenoid synthesis in weeds, leading to chlorophyll breakdown and weed bleaching (turning white) under sunlight. Atrazine is a Photosystem II inhibitor (WSSA Group 5) that blocks electron transport in photosynthesis. Together, they create a powerful synergistic effect that controls even tough or triazine-resistant broadleaf weeds.

Application Recommendations

For best results, apply post-emergence when weeds are actively growing (2-4 leaf stage). Ensure the field has good moisture (watar). Calibrate the sprayer and use flat-fan nozzles for uniform soil and weed coverage.
