- آبپاشی: مٹی میں نمی برقرار رکھیں لیکن پانی کھڑا ہونے سے گریز کریں۔ باجرے کی قسم خشک ہونے کے خلاف اچھی برداشت ظاہر کرتی ہے، پھر بھی خشک ادوار کے دوران باقاعدہ آبپاشی ضروری ہے۔
- کھاد کا استعمال: ہر کٹائی کے بعد، یوریا کی صورت میں 30 کلوگرام/ایکڑ نائٹروجن کی خوراک (تقریباً 70 کلوگرام/ایکڑ) تجویز کی جاتی ہے۔ فاسفورس 40 کلوگرام/ایکڑ ایس ایس پی کی صورت میں (تقریباً 240 کلوگرام/ایکڑ) دو برابر حصوں میں لگایا جانا چاہئے: ایک خوراک بہار میں اور دوسری مون سون میں۔
