Best Cultivation Practices
Sesame grows best in well-drained sandy loam soil. Prepare the soil to a fine tilth. Sowing should be done in June-July when the temperature is warm. Since sesame seeds are very small, mixing them with dry sand ensures even distribution. Avoid irrigating during hot afternoons and ensure no water stands in the field for more than a few hours.
